This is the kind of question which I often get when I’m trying to pursuit for money making opportunities online via blogging. Honestly, I think there is no exact answer for this question. It is actually depends on how a blogger want or hoping to achieve. If you wrote long blog post, you will probably gain more traffic from Google search engine. Especially when you are able to include a lot of different and unique keywords in your long blog post, Google search engine is able to index your blog post in various kinds of topic and keywords. Thus it is able to increase the chances of people from various fields to find your blog using search engine. The downside about long blog post is that many people might not have the patient and time to read through the blog post completely. Especially if people are trying to read your long blog post from the small display screen of mobile phone, it will be difficult for them to continue on unless necessary. If you wrote short blog post, it will be easy for your readers to follow and read. Smartphone or mobile users are also able to read your blog post within a few minutes. They should be able to read thought the blog post completely before stressing out. It is also much easier for them to share it out via twitter, Facebook or Instagram. The downside about short blog post is that Google search engine might not favors them. Especially when comparing to long blog post, Google search engine will rank longer blog post better than short blog post. So it can be difficult when trying to decide if it is better to write long blog post or short blog post. In my opinion, you should not force yourself to write long blog post. If you are not having fun writing long blog post, you won’t be able to produce good quality content. A long blog post with poor quality content is poison to your blog. Instead of trying to bring in traffic, your blog will be rank lower in Google search engine. Thus it is better not to determine the length of your blog post when you write or blog. Just write freely and stop whenever you think suitable. This way you won’t risk reducing the quality of your blog content over blog post length.
